Our Live Sound Story
TrueSounds Live Sound utilizes the latest in PA technology to create a pleasing live sound landscape that older systems struggle to compete with. The heart of the mix comes from the acclaimed Soundcraft SI Expression 2 digital mixer. This mixer gives the ability to record direct into Pro Tools Ultimate for on-site live recordings (*see below for more information on live recordings). The digital mixer has revolutionized the world of live sound by packing into the mixer what in the past took several racks of gear. This mixer gives an individual gate, side-chainable compressor, 4 band parametric EQ, reverb, delay, modulation, and other FX on each channel. In addition, compression and a 31 band graphic EQ can be added to each of the output/mixes for complete control of the Front of House mix and individual MON mixes.
The latest small tour level 3-way active speakers made by JBL (SRX835P) and subwoofers (SRX828SP) are deployed to create an audibly pleasing experience in almost any environment. These speakers feature the latest in DSP and are networked together with the mixer over the HiQnet for quick and accurate setup and tuning.
Following are some of the techniques that will be used for your event.
-Using advanced real time analysis (RTA) tools the speakers can be tuned to the room and their physical location in the room or outside.
-FOH and MON speakers will be "ringed out" to minimize feedback.
-Backline delay. This ensures that sound from the actual instruments is timed to the sound coming out of the PA speakers. Helps with overall clarity.
-Subharmonic Synthesis. This helps to bring out the BASS! It makes the lows low and helps to round out the full capabilities of the PA.
-Automatic feedback suppression if needed for quick and transparent elimination/prevention of feedback.
-Individual input gate, compressor, EQ, reverb, delay, modulation
-Individual output mix compression and 31 band graphic EQ
-Individual monitor mixes
*A stunning live recording can be achieved using the Soundcraft SI Expression 2 digital mixing board and Pro Tools Ultimate. The 24 channel mixer can record all live inputs directly into Pro Tools. Once recorded a guitar DI can be re-amped using the original performance to get the right tone all the while cutting out the unwanted stage noise. The drum shells can be replaced with drums from a sample library or even using samples created from the drummers very own drum kit. Vocal timing or tuning issues can all be addressed using vocal correction software.
